To Chairperson Brenda Ford of the Public Safety and
Mass Transit Committee and all Committee Members,
We thank Councilperson Brenda Ford for putting forth
BILL 109 in its present form and tell you to please pass
this BILL 109 in Committee and the two readings of full
Council and defeat any veto. Thank you .
Please accept our testimony of today in regards and IN
SUPPORT OF BILL 109 .
We are in 100% support of this BILL 109 as this BILL
109 says exactly what we know to be true in order to
protect our very sensitive environment and ecology.
The "testing" of gmo's by industry in the US have
shown to be incomplete and scewed in favor of
industry. The US government agencies having to do
with testing and approval of testing have shown
themselves to be in complicity with industry and have
put industry profits above human life and safety, with
former Monsanto employees now in the EPA and FDA.
The foxes are guarding the henhouses.
Not only are the effects of gene splicing proving to be
ineffective over all, the very methods of the gene
splicing are non prisice and very often the recipient
gene is missed and other genes are affected, other
than the intended gene. Some genes are fractured
resulting in further negative impacts in the recieving
genome. This results in unexpected and unpredictable

RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT OUR LIVES AND
HEALTH AND SAFETY.
The lives and safety of the PEOPLE OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII ARE IN THE BALANCE HERE AND DEMAND
LAW WHICH WILL GIVE US THE RIGHT TO CONTINUE
TO PRACTICE ORGANIC AND SUSTAINABLE FARMING
METHODS.
At the very least commercial farming would be also
free of harmful and improperly tested gmos.
STOP THE TREADMILL OF UNSUSTAINABLE FARMING
HERE.
The use and farming of gmos have resulted in heavier
use of glysophates such as Roundup produced by
Monsanto, the same big business that produces and
sells gmo seeds.
