Subject: Anti-GMO bills proposed
TO: Counciltestimony (on GMO bills):
If your committee does not have more sensible things to argue about, please send them back to high
school and study say botany.
No sensible geneticist or breeder like me around the whole world would endorse GMO proposals such
as you face. Just as evolution is based on facts, not "fancy" ideas. so also the evidence undergirding
federal approval of any and all transgenes ("GMOs") that currently cover three hundred million acres of
our planet is fact and not to be debated unwisely as if it were "fancy" or absolutely un-factual.
I've a PhD in genetics and plant breeding from Cornell U. in 1952, and have served the University of
Hawaii and farmers of Hawaii in research and teaching since 1960. I know what I am "talking about".
It is absolutely disgusting to me that this kind of debate is wasting taxpayer's money.
