Here is why: • there is NO PROBLEM so there is nothing to fix---no law is necessary. • biotechnology is already strictly regulated at both the federal and state levels. • biotechnology is already widely accepted in medicine and agriculture because it saves lives. • the bills discriminate against our farmers and ranchers who choose to use this approved technology to grow safe and wholesome food and other agriculture products. • the bills damage Hawaii's reputation for producing delicious foods. • the bills will lead to destruction of successful Hawaii's farms. • the bills foster the belief that non-GMO crops are healthier. • laws should be based on science; NOT the religion of activists that don't bother to educate themselves before demonizing an extremely useful tool. • non-farmer and non-scientist activists should not dictate how farmers should farm. • fear of change should not prevent beneficial changes. • there is too much at stake to reject genuine solutions to Hawaii's (and the world's) problems. This anti-GMO legislation is baseless and embarrassing. PLEASE VOTE AGAINST THESE BILLS. Sasha Ota Farmer and rancher Hawaii v.r c n --v t- w sa- r-- I'• TYs Comm. No. 3g 5. 7 Ref.To: . P/PSMTc Ref.
