I am a small farmer/rancher in the Ka'u district. I am providing testimony in opposition to Bill 109 and Bill 113. I am pro-farming and believe in the right of farmers to grow GMO crops. It is a proven safe technology and is a necessary tool that has been used for many years with no proven ill effects. All the negative claims being made are not based on sound science and therefore should not even be considered. I oppose this bill because of the many negative consequences this bill would have for Big Island farmers, agriculture researchers, consumers, and future local farmers. Thank you for the opportunity to submit testimony in opposition to Bill 109 and Bill 113.
