Position: Opposed to Bill 109 and Bill 113

Council,
My name is John Kai, President of Royal Hawaiian Orchard, LP and President of
Pinnacle Investment Group, LLC I am providing testimony in OPPOSITION to Bill 109
and Bill 113.
You have heard repeatedly from many in our community who are in support of this bill
and the previous bill relating to GMO (Bill 79). There is a larger contingency that is in
opposition to this bill who have chosen not to get mired in the fray of junk science, rude
and intolerant people, outright lies and fabrication of the facts.
I OPPOSE, this bill because of the many negative consequences this bill would have for
Big Island farmers, agriculture researchers, consumers, and future local farmers.
Thank you for the opportunity to submit testimony in opposition to Bill 109 and Bill 113.
