Subject: Vote NO on bills 109 and 113
Hello,
I would like to encourage you to vote no on county bills 109 and 113. I believe that these bills will hurt
Hawaii's farmers, ranchers, economy and ultimately hurt Hawaii's environment.
Farming is one thing that allows people to live well without destroying thier landscape. you can farm
ground for 1000 years and with very little money or effort, stop farming and it will return to exactkly the
way it was before you started. Much of Hawaii has valuable farm land, and many people make a living
by farming that land. GMO crops help us to do this. without GMO strains of papaya. there would be
NO papaya industry on Big Island, this would hurt everyone because we would have to import even
more. if those farmers could not grow papaya anymore, they would likely sell thier land to investment
groups who would build condos and resorts.
Please vote no on bills 109 and 113.
Thank you
