The basis for my support is multifactorial. Respect for traditions of the indigenous host Hawaiian culture is a good place to start. It would be respectful to ask permission before beginning any geothermal development, even more so for fracking. Existing geothermal development in Puna has had negative impacts on the health of it's neighbors and is poorly monitored, if at all. Again fracking ups the ante, with the demonstrated lack of effective oversite and repeated releases of toxic gases, heavy metals and the like into the surrounding environment by our existing geothermal development, geothermal fracking is a technology full of risks for it's neighbors that we should be cautious about implementing. Lastly, fracking is famous for promoting seismic activity, and even it's proponents admit it should not be done near fault lines. I believe that we live in one of the most seismically active places on earth. so that should be a wrap on this one. Mahalo and Aloha, Dr. Joe Kassel N.D.,L.Ac Comm. No T •bp Ref. To: Ref.
