Good afternoon Council members,my name is Jason Blair and I am a landowner in
Hakalau. I am here representing myself and my family.
I SUPPORT Bill 109. I believe that the sunset on the GMO papayas may be two short
of a time period,but I do not want any GMOs, including animal feed where that
animal will be eaten or milk used for human consumption.
I OPPOSE Bill 113 because it has too many exemptions and especially Bt corn which
has been proven to be toxic to animals and people.
I OPPOSE COM 394 Ad Hoc Committee and instead we should have a Transition
Committee after the Bill is passed to help farmers transition to non-GMO crops.
I OPPOSE COM 404 Hawaii Island GMO Summit because it was basically just a
chemical company lobbying event.
Finally, I want to remind the Council that representatives of the people, not the
corporations.
