Americans have the right to know what we are eating and what we will be feeding future generations of our children. What created the papaya ringspot virus to begin with? Is the GMO virus resistant Rainbow Papaya any different when humans ingest it, virsus other heavily GMO' crops? Did the past heavy use of herbicides and insecticides create the ringspot virus; now what chemicals will be needed to prevent other issues that may come up with Rainbow Papaya? Farmers are some of the hardest dedicated workers on earth. They already know how to work with nature. As in past centuries we grew, using the natural order of farming plants, rotating crops, and re-vitalizing soils. Farmers, today, should not be threatened of losing their farms; I don't mind if my taxes help farmers do the right thing_and are subsidized to grow naturally. Are Hawaii citizens and our farmers truly educated on genetically modified foods, the insecticides needed for them, and the damage it does to nature's seed stocks? Today, farmers finances and time have been wasted by the invention of these newly developed laboratory GMO messes and new plant diseases. It's not the people against the farmers, but FDA not following proper protocols and forcing this type of farming too quickly without the proper studies. Politicians and the FDA have been totally laxed, while big corporation monies keep them in office. We aren't voting for the best men; big corporations put them in office. Monsanto and others have lied to the politicians and us. These "chemical" companies have been around for 100 yrs. They told us PCBs, agent orange, DDT, etc., were safe. How many lives were destroyed by these and the children continuing to suffer chemical exposure? Monsanto was fined $500,000,000 in just one town exposed to their factory production chemicals. GMO's have been found to be inherently dangerous. But the money talked, starting with the Bush Adm. and FDA allowed Monsanto (and others) to continue their DNA Frankenstein's in the lab. Scientists were ignored, big corporate monies bribed our governments; and now, it's funneled down to individuals and the State and City and County levels. We need to take back our government, as the people hire the politicians to do the right thing. It is our constitutional right to know what the hell we are eating and what we've been spraying on our soils for decades. It has been proven that GMO's, hormones and anti-biotics given to animals damage both human and animal organs, produce allergies, infertility, can put holes in the GI tracts, multiple organ failures, new diseases, immune systems failures, birth defects, more types of cancers, etc. Why is the U.S. we the sickest country in the world? What are we turning into--zombie-type diseased robots—while a few mongrels collect the money and tell us Ana to eat their genetically modified food mutations. Using tons of herbicides and chemicals on our land prevents the plants from taking up the proper nutrients; they may look good, but are devoid of important nutrients. We don't want to cross-pollinate all our seed stocks and contaminate the 10-15% original seed stocks left, that hard-working farmers collected over the past 100 yrs. We mess with the remaining seed stocks, they are gone forever. And it is not possible to change GMO seeds back to mother nature's grown seeds. Seeds are now owned by Monsanto!!! GMO yields are less, not more; and in some instances, as in India, have used more water supplies. GMO plants have created 40 new plant diseases, so we can go out and buy more of these corporation's newly created chemicals. No GMO plant can survive without insecticides. What created the papaya diseases in the first place? Scientists say the earth is now going into a more rapid extinction, compared to the last five extinctions caused by comets and asteroids. We are losing specie organisms faster than the last five earth extinctions. Losing the bees and the Monarch butterflies are a few of the canaries in the gold mine. Personally, I have become "deathly" ill eating wheat and other grains containing gluten, even tho' I have been diagnosed not to have Celiac Disease; ingesting soy sauce gives me hallucinations. Why can eat the ancient wheat called Spelt—is it because it's gene pool has been saved for 5,000 yrs. and untouched by man? It was a natural-pathic doctor from Greece that diagnosed my failing health. A Hilo doctor took out my gall bladder, but that wasn't the problem—it was the eating of grains!!! I now have chronic kidney disease, even tho' I have a nearly perfect diet and drink lots of water. My sister had a kidney transplant—I'm wondering what was in our town's drinking water supply, being raised in a polluted coal mining town.
