I worked for the seed industry for over 11 years, where prior to that I worked for a private farmer for 8 %years. This bill targets the wrong industry, will make general farming more difficult and more importantly cause the farmer/grower to spend more in operating costs. I am a avid hunter, fisherman and worry about what goes on in the environment. I'm not blind, I see what is happening around me, over fishing, development, pollution. Agriculture has been in Hawaii for such a long period and the cane and pineapple industry used far more chemicals and land than what's currently being used. They grew 3 times the acreage but still was not targeted like the seed industry. Makes no sense because we employ displaced sugar and pineapple employees and give them a shot of still being able to make a living and raise a family in Hawaii. Nuff said- Pau!
