I would like to share with you my own personal thoughts on raising food and farming. Food is a very personal subject that carries much emotion with it. We celebrate with food when times are good, and we grieve with food when we suffer a loss. Food is emotion! But, we must also look at how raising food has changed over time. From the very first efforts to gather enough food to survive, it has been critical to improve our farming methods. GMOs are simply a way to improve the way we grow our food. Having choices, I know, is very important. Some can afford to buy from a special market such as organic, or home grown. But what about people that just need food to survive and can not afford the higher price tag. When you look deep into the studies analyzing new technology, and I know studies can be made to show what ever results you are looking for, but think about who did the study and what their agenda is. Weigh all sides and base your decision on deep thought and not just emotional stories. Bills 109 and 113 will hurt real people. Not just the farmer trying to just raise food in the best way they know how. But it will hurt many more that just need choices in food that they can afford to buy for their families. I am a small family farmer from Iowa, that cares deeply that families need choices. Thank you Larry Sailer C-, C7 O © 'CD tal Comm. No. 3 gs' °to Ref.To: r°/P.$/I tG 1 Ref. Date SEP 2 3'2013
