Re: Comm. No. 433/Bill No. 131
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 131, reports as follows:
Bill No. 131, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 175 -13, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 433 dated September 13, 2013, amends Ordinance No. 13 -65, as amended, the
Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The amendment is
as follows:

010.221.5228.22 Assistance to Firefighters Grant 2012 —
Prev & Safety General $ 19,400
These funds will be used to purchase 700 to 750 fire detectors to be installed into the homes of elderly
residents across Hawaii Island.
Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the
Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken
pursuant to any powers granted.by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance
connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.

passage on first reading.
