TITLE: An Ordinance amending Section 25-8-33 (City of Hilo Zone Map),
Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) of the Hawai`i County Code
1983 (2005 Edition), by changing the district classification from
Agricultural—one acre (A-la) and Single-Family Residential—
10,000 square feet(RS-10) to University (UNV), and the deletion
of the proposed 80-foot right-of-way connecting Komohana Street
and Kumukoa Street, at Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawai`i, covered by
Tax Map Keys 2-4-001:005, Portion of 007, 041, 162, 163, 167
and 2-4-056:017.
EXPLANATION: The area covers approximately 312 square feet. Bill 122 is initiated
by the Planning Director. The primary purpose of this change of
zone request is to align the zoning designation of the subject area
with its University Use designation in the Hawai`i County General
Plan. The Windward Planning Commission forwards a favorable
recommendation.

RECOMMENDATION: Positive; recommends passage on first reading.
