Re: Capital Budget
The enclosed is a bill for an ordinance appropriating $90,000 for the Waiakea
Stream BMP project. This federally reimbursed project proposes to reduce
pollutants in Wailoa Pond by stabilizing a section of Waiakea Stream and
through education of residents within the drainage shed.

A. REQUEST:
Appropriation of $90,000 for Waiakea Stream BMP Proiect, P-3377. This
is a federally reimbursed project that proposes to reduce pollutants in
Wailoa Pond by stabilizing a section of Waiakea Stream and through
education of residents within the drainage shed.
B. BACKGROUND AND JOSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDEDI:
This is a federally funded project. The County's matching share will
come entirely from in-kind services. The County is implementing the
project in cooperation with the University of Hawaii and the local Soil
and Water Conservation District. This request is only to cover the
Federally funded portion, which is to be reimbursed.
