Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
Communication 747 and its attached Bill 243 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill 243 is to amend the provisions of the Traffic
Code and convert two, 36-minute parking meter stalls on the makai
side of Kinoole Street at Ponahawai Street to two-hour parking meter
stalls . The provisions of Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 7 ,
Sections 24-289 and 24-291 are being amended to accomplish this
purpose .
Your Committee finds that this request for conversion was initiated
by the Committee on Public Works as a matter of new business on
June 24, 1986 . Your Committee also finds that the Department of
Public Works has reviewed the proposed conversion and found that
two-hour parking would be more functional to the area.
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Bill 243 and recommends its passage on first reading by the County
Council .
