Regarding the front page story in [his morning's Hawaii Tribune-Herald and the hearing thts morning on
glass recycling
Mrs. Ululani Rosario and Margaret Pahio have my ga(ilude fur the hard work the}' put in w keeping uass
bottles out of the Hilo Lartditll.
Mrs. Rosario gave me approximately 100 pounds of crushed glass W do a test plot :n a iandscapvrg project.
That test plot fumed out very well. The glass was used lil:e sand as a base in which to set stones. It is on!}'
rcecnt physical disabilities that have kept me from continuing the project and buying more glass from their
company.
I am sure I am sot the onl}• one to benefit from their generosity and genuine effort to educate the public on
the many uses for this glass product.
The company provides East Hawaii with a great service. Everything possible should be done to continue
the recycling program. especially the collection bins a[ the various transfer s[ahors.
Mahalo for your nme and consideration,
