RESOLUTION NO. 209 /3
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
DONATION OF $1,500 TO THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT TO
SUPPORT THE MAYOR'S HEALTH INITIATIVE
WHEREAS, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii is donating $1,500 to the County of
Hawaii, Office of Management; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support activities and incentives for the
Mayor's Health Initiative; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization
procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by
the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash
donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution
process; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Management recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Nina Miyata, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, Community Benefits,
2828 Pa'a Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819, acknowledging this generous donation.
