RESOLUTION NO. 214 13
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO A HOLIDAY
EVENT FOR ELDERLY NATIVE HAWAIIANS.
WHEREAS, ALU LIKE, Inc., is a statewide, non-profit organization which assists
Native Hawaiians of all ages by providing cultural enrichment and helping them to achieve
social and economic self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, ALU LIKE, Inc., is coordinating a holiday event for their elderly (kupuna)
clients to be held in West Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS, the Mass Transit Agency collaborates with community organizations to
help provide transportation for special events that benefit the community; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Mass Transit Agency to assist with transporting ALU LIKE, Inc.'s elderly (kupuna) clients to
a holiday event taking place in West Hawai`i; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Mass Transit Administrator and the Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
