The Windward Planning Commission,County of Hawaii voted to recommend the approval of the
above referenced application subject to certain conditions.
Applicant is asking for a change to the wording of condition I.on page 3 of the Approval Letter
The applicant is asking for the following change on page 3 first sentence of condition(I.):
Prior to the issuance of an Occupancy Permit for any portion of the proposed development,the
applicant shall install a traffic signal at the Kahakai Blvd./Pahoa Village Road intersection meeting
with the approval of the Department of Public Works and the State Department of Transportation.
HELCO engineers need enough lead time to do the following: plan,drafting,cost estimating,do field
checks,easement acquisition,pole line relocation,cost estimating,accommodate road widening,
obtain the necessary materials,installation of a proposed traffic signal control system,and
scheduling of construction for the project.
The timeline for the off-site civil engineering and construction is not under Applicants control.
Applicant asks for the above referenced change in wording.
