Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1797 and its attached Bill No . 641 , report's as follows:
Bill No . 641 proposes to amend Chapter 24 , Article 10 , Section
24-280 , Schedule 28 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 relating to no
parking anytime , under South Hilo by adding a new item. The purpose
of the bill is to create a no parking zone to provide proper sight
distance for vehicles entering Lanikaula Street from the Hilo Baptist
Church and the University of Hawaii at Hilo student housing .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Bill No . 641 and
Communication No . 1797 from the Chief Engineer , which states that
Reverend Uejo of the new Hilo Baptist Church has requested the no
parking zone .
Your Committee Chairwoman stated that the no parking zone is needed .
Your Committee concurred with the Chairwoman ' s recommendation to
approve Bill No . 641 .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the intent and
purpose of Bill No . 641 and recommends its as age on first reading
by the County Council .
