Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1730 and its attached Bill No. 605 , reports as follows :
Bill No . 605 proposes to amend Chapter 24, Articles 10 , Section
24-280 , Schedule 28 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 , relating to no
parking at anytime, by deleting subsections 24-280 (b) ( 1 ) , (c) ( 2) ,
(c) ( 37 ) , (c) ( 67 ) , (c)'( 68) , (c) ( 72) , (c) ( 92) , (c ) ( 102) , (c) ( 124 ) ,
(c) ( 125) and (d) ( 14) . The purpose of the bill is housekeeping, that
is, to remedy the present duplication of subsections which should
only be listed in Section 24-281, Schedule 29, related to parking
prohibited during certain hours on certain streets .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communication 1730 from
the Chief Engineer and Bill No. 605 . Your Committee heard the Deputy
Chief Engineer testify that this housekeeping measure would resolve
the County Code ' s comingling of two lists of no parking at all and no
parking during certain times .
Your Committee concurred with the Deputy Chief Engineer ' s
recommendation to approve Bill No. 605 .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the intent and
purpose of Bill No . 605 and recommends its p.,.sag- on first reading
by the County Council .
