your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1730 and its attached Bill No. 604 , reports as follows :
Bill No. 604 proposes to amend Chapter 24 , Article 10 ,
Section 24-281 , Schedule 29 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 , relating
to parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets , by
adding a new subsection. The purpose of the bill is house cleaning ,
that is , to put "Waianuenue Avenue, Hamakua side, fronting the Hilo
Methodist Church, from 7 : 00 a .m. to 6 : 00 p.m. , except on Saturdays ,
Sundays and holidays" into the appropriate section of the traffic
code.
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communications No . 1730
from the Chief Engineer and Bill No . 604 and understands that the no
parking zone fronting the church is presently incorrectly listed in
Schedule 28, related to no parking at any time and a companion bill ,
Bill No. 605 , would delete that subsection in Schedule 28 .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the intent and
purpose of Bill No. 604 and recommends its p. ssage on first reading
by the County Council .
