Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Resolution
'No . 465-88 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 465-88 is to request the Administration
to do the following:
(1 ) Design a network of streets which would permit traffic to
move safely and smoothly between the Hawaii Belt Highway and
the Queen Kaahumanu Highway .
( 2) Evaluate the feasibility of locating the first mauka-makai
connector road somewhere between Waikoloa and Kona Palisades
Subdivision .
Your Committee finds that the growth of the North Kona and South
Kohala districts has resulted in increased traffic and that the
County needs to plan for roads to accommodate the growing traffic.
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Resolution No . 465-88 and recommends its tion by the County
Council . ".
