your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1643 , reports as follows :
Communication No . 1643 from Yasuo Kuwaye, President , Japanese Chamber
of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii , is a request for Council
authorization to hold a sidewalk sale in Downtown Hilo on Friday,
July 29 , and Saturday, July 30 , 1988 during the 27th Annual
International Festival of the Pacific . A Consent and Approval from
the Downtown Improvement Association , which represents the owners or
lessees of the land directly abutting the sidewalk area to be used
for the public sidewalk sale , is attached to Communication No . 1643 .
Your Committee on Public Works recommends tha . he County Council
approve the request to hold a sidewalk sale in Downtown Hilo on
July 29 and 30 , 1988 . ,
