Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
'No . 1517 and 1517 .1 , reports as follows:
Communication No. 1517 is a transmittal letter from the Corporation
Counsel which forwards for acceptance road and sewer dedication deeds
for a roadway and sewer in the Kapehu Camp Subdivision, Increment I,
Keaalau, North Hilo, Hawaii , TMK: 3-5-02: 01 . The letter notes that
the Department of Public Works advises that the roadway and all
necessary improvements were constructed according to County of Hawaii
standards and that the subdivision received recordation approval from
the Planning Department .
The Department of Public Works has advised in Communication 1517
dated February 17 , 1988 that the descriptions have been checked and
found to be acceptable and that the necessary improvements within the
subdivision were completed according to County of Hawaii standards
and are acceptable for dedication.
Your Committee has read Communication 1517 .1 from the Corporation
Counsel dated March 15 , 1988 transmitting a letter from the Chief
Engineer , dated March 9, 1988 informing the Corporation Counsel that
all necessary improvements within the subdivision have been completed
according to specifications for experimental housing development as
permitted under Section 45-15 , Hawaii Revised Statutes and authorized
by County Council Resolution No . 933-84 and are in acceptable
condition for dedication .
The map attached to Communication 1517 shows that roadways are more
narrow than County standard . The County previously accepted the
dedication deed for the sewer treatment plant . The area being
recommended for acceptance now is around the sewer treatment plant
and serves as an underground leaching field for the treated sewage .
This area is shown as lot 33 on the tax map attached to Communication
No . 1517 .

Your Committee finds that both the conveyance of the roadways , sewer ,
and improvements is proper and recommends - ptance of the
dedication deeds by the Counc ' l and their su• -equent recordation with
the Bureau of Conveyances .
