Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
' No. 1528 and its attached Bill No . 510, reports as follows:
Bill 510 proposes to amend the Hawaii County Code 1983 , Chapter 24,
Article 10, Section 24-288, Schedule 36, Freight loading zones, by
adding a new item. The purpose of the bill is to provide a freight
loading zone on the mauka side of Kilauea Avenue in front of Kay 's
Lunch Center beginning at a point 587 feet Puna of Hualalai4Street
and extending 44 feet in the Puna direction.
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communication 1528 from
the Chief Engineer and Bill 510, and understands the following.
1 .. The request for a freight loading zone came from
Mr . Allen Okuda .
2. The conversion of two parking spaces in front of Kay ' s
Lunch Center to a freight loading zone is not expected to
adversely effect parking as adequate off street parking in
available for businesses near Kay 's Lunch Center .
Your Committee on Public Works recommends p--.age of Bill No. 510 on
first reading by the Count Council
