Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1525 and its attached Bill No . 507 , reports as follows:
Bill 507 proposes to amend the Hawaii county Code, Chapter 24,
Article 10, Section 24-267, Schedule 15, one way streets, items 21
and 22 .
The purpose of Bill 507 is to start the morning one way traffic
pattern along Paauilo School Road and Paauilo School Park Road one
half hour earlier to order to accommodate the early arrival of school
buses .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communication 1525 and
Bill 507 and understands the following:
1 . Paauilo School requested the change of start time for the
one way traffic pattern;
2 . The buses arrive early because they also must pick up and
transport other students to Honokaa High and Elementary
School ; and
3. The Chief Engineer would like to implement the change as
soon as possible to reduce congestion and improve traffic
flow along Paauilo School Road and Paauilo School Park Road .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord wi _ the intent of
Bill 507 and recommends its passage on �erst re. : ing by the County
Council .
