Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1489 and its attached Bill No. 493, reports as follows:
Bill 493 proposes to Amend Chapter 24, Article 10 , Division 7 ,
Section 24-292, Schedule 40 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 , relating
to 8 hour parking meter zones by adding Hilo Armory parking lots ,
mauka and makai . The purpose of the bill is to provide long term
8-hour metered parking at the two parking lots by the Hilo Armory.
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Communication 1489 and
Bill 493 and understands that the paving of the parking lots at the
Hilo Armory is scheduled for completion in May 1988 .
Your Committee on Public Works recommends passage of Bill No . 493 on
first reading by the County Council .
