Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Resolution
'Vo. 394-88, reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No. 394-88 is to encourage the State of
Hawaii to seriously consider the construction of a bypass highway,
the Puainako Extension, to relieve the congestion on Kaumana Drive
and to deal with the impending increased use of Saddle Road .
Your Committee finds that new housing developments on Kaumana Drive
and improvements to Saddle Road have resulted in traffic congestion
on Kaumana Drive . Your Committee understands that the proposed
Puainako Extension would provide an alternate route to Kaumana Drive
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Resolution No. 394-88 and recommends its adoption by the County
Council .
