RESOLUTION NO. 190 13

A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT'S COMMUNITY
OFFICERS BICYCLE PATROL.
WHEREAS, the Police Department's Community Policing Officers on bicycle patrol address
liquor enforcement, drug enforcement, traffic enforcement, parking problems, public nuisances,
pedestrian safety and visitor safety; and
WHEREAS, bicycle patrols will require training, equipment and appropriate uniforms for each
of the seven Community Policing Officers in the South Hilo District; and
WHEREAS, bicycle patrols will require adequate funds for the repair, tune-up, service, parts
and labor for ten bicycles; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the
Police Department, South Hilo Police, for bicycle equipment, maintenance and repair; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

APPROPRIATION: $6,000
OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $6,000
CREDITED TO:
010.201.5207.02 Police Department $6,000
South Hilo Police—Oce
109 Equipment Repair/Ma, 235 Misc Materials & Sup
($1,750 uniforms, $595 helmet and gloves, $1,155 web belt,
$2,500 repair, tune-up, service, parts and labor)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Chief of Police and to the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
