RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A
MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR MOBILE DATA TERMINALS TO BE USED
BY THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later
fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease
agreement for three (3) years, for one hundred (100) mobile data terminals to be used
by the Police Department at various locations throughout Hawaii Island; and
WHEREAS, the mobile data terminals will be placed in various officer's vehicles to
allow them to file reports when the are away from their stations; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a three (3) year lease
agreement for one hundred (100) mobile data terminals for the Hawaii
County Police Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
3. That the total cost for the three (3) year lease agreement shall not
exceed $482,000.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Police Department,
and the Finance Department.
