Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Communication
No . 1285 .1 and its attached Bill No. 444 , reports as follows:
Bill 444 proposes to change the time for picnic area use to the hours
between 6 :00 a .m . and 11 :00 p.m.
The bill would amend Chapter 15 , Article 5 , Section 15-51 of the
Hawaii County Code 1983 , Relating to Hours for Picnic Area Use .
The purpose of the bill is to close picnic areas one hour earlier in
order to maintain peace and quiet within the picnic area and the
adjoining residential areas .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Bill 444 and supports its
purpose .
Your Committee on Public Works recommends passage of Bill No . 444 on
first reading by the County Council .
