Your Committee on Public Works .to which was referred Communication
No. 1167 and its attached Bill No. 384 , reports as follows:
Bill 384 proposes to establish a no parking at anytime zones along
the Napoopoo Beach Road in Kona to improve sight distances and to
provide access for emergency vehicles . The first will be on the
makai side of the Napoopoo Beach Road, begins at the Napoopoo Road
intersection and extends to the northern terminus of the Napoopoo
Beach Road . A second no parking zone will be on the mauka side of
the Napoopoo Beach Road, beginning from the Napoopoo Road
intersection and will extend three hundred thirty feet in the
northerly direction . Two new paragraphs are been appropriately added
to Chapter 24 , Article 10 , Section 24-280 , subsection (d ) for this
purpose .
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed the comments of the
Deparment of Public Works which were submitted in support of this
amendment and is in accord with the intent and purpose of this Bill .
Your Committee on Public Works recommends passage of Bill No. 384 on
first reading by the County Council .
