I have been a voting resident of Hilo since 1979. -C

I live in District 2 and I am writing to ask you to vote NO on any anti-GMO bills.
I believe the science behind these crops is sound and they will not be harmful.
Most of the opposition to GMO is based on emotion and not science.
There is a lot of misinformation being presented to the council.
Perhaps look at it this way. These crops provide the same nutritional balance as non-GMO
crops. Now, look at the "health" supplement industry, where tons of vitamins, minerals,
and other chemicals are used to drastically alter the nutritional balance in our bodies.
Yet, these artificial substances are legal and constitute a far greater danger than GMO
foods.
At least, form a task force to scientifically study GMO crops and come to an intelligent
conclusion.
