Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Resolution
'No . 317-87 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 317-87 is to request the State
Department of Transportation to evaluate its Kuakini
Highway-Kamehameha III Road intersection for improvements which will
foster traffic safety for its users .
Your Committee finds that much public concern has been expressed of a
need to evaluate and improve the Kuakini-Highway-Kamehameha III Road
intersection in Kona. Your Committee, finding that this intersection
is under the jurisdiction of the State, and being very much concerned
with the safety of its residents and visitors , supports a
re-evaluation of this busy intersection for improvements to traffic
safety .
Your Comittee on Public Works is in accord wi the purpose of
Resolution No. 317-87 and recommends it adop ion by the County
Council . --
