RESOLUTION NO. 227 13
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR KEALAKEHE PROJECT GRAD.
WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad will provide 260 graduates from Kealakehe High
School, West Hawai`i Explorations Academy, and qualifying home-schooled seniors a
graduation-night celebration on May 24, 2014, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following
morning; and
WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad provides a safe, drug- and alcohol-free celebration
on graduation night to high school seniors and has done so since its inception in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Kealakehe Project Grad needs funds to help pay for activities,
entertainment, decorations, food, transportation, gifts, memorabilia, door prizes, a closing
speaker, dvd/video and photography, advertising and other expenses associated with the
graduation-night celebration on May 24, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to
the Department of Liquor Control to help pay for expenses associated with the graduation-night
celebration on May 24, 2014; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $5,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
