RESOLUTION NO. 230 13
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR
FIVE (5) COPY MACHINES FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for five (5)
years, for five (5) copy machines for the Hawaii County Police Department to be used in the Police
Commission Office, Hilo Criminal Investigation Division (CID), South Hilo squad-room, South Hilo
detention facility and in the South Hilo training room; and
WHEREAS, the leases for the copiers to be replaced have expired and they are in constant
need for repair; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement for
five (5) copy machines for the Hawaii County Police Department.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated
obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that these copy machines shall be leased for a period of five
(5) years, each at a cost of approximately $216 per month and $0.0098 per copy.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Hawaii County Police Department, and the
Finance Department.
