Subject: Ban GMO
I support keeping GMO out of Hawaii. More responsibility is needed in considering GMO options. I
think GMO can be done responsibly, however labeling must be part of the process and more
consideration of the long term effect of genetic modification of our food supply. We don't have to have
GMO it is simply a profit making venture it is not being used to improve food only to make it easier to
apply pesticides or to save money over the short term. Lets think long term and stop GMO now until we
are all sure it is well tested and is tightly controlled. I do agree that GMO papaya is a good application
and am in favor of GMO for papaya only. Corn on the other hand is not a good GMO alternative.
Feeding pesticide laden feed to cattle ultimately ends up on human consumed food.
