GMO agriculture is not going to reduce long term pesticide use as insects will always evolve quickly to
whatever man creates to stop them. We learned this in the 20th century through our heavy use of
pesticides. 50 years ago pesticides seemed like the answer, it was not. The pie-in-the-sky corporate sell
does not account for long term GMO effects (just like pesticides in the past). If the unforeseen long
term effects of GMO is negative it could alter the Big Island forever. The risks are extremely high.
