Re:Testimony Against Bill no. 113
My name is Elton Mow and I OPPOSE BILL no.113.
Instead of this Bill I support formation of an AD HOC Committee or TASK FORCE. I think this issue is
much too Complex and Controversial and Requires more input from farmers,scientists and other
experts to uncover the Real Truth of this Issue.
The Goal should be of Food Sustainability and how to increase the number of Producers to grow more at
a price that people will buy them instead of buying imported products. It should not matter if its
conventional or organic as long as consumers can choose which is right for them and they know its safe.
This Bill could have far reaching affects that were not considered. Stagnating science and research,
Slowly cutting off the Orchid Cutflower industry by lack of Virus Resistant Plants, Higher Milk Prices or
closing the dairies it goes on and on.
On the other hand with proper investigation and cooperation a Strategic Plan can be developed that can
be used a model for others to follow. As it is now there is alot of wasted time because there is no plan.
