Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred Resolution
No . 262-87 , reports as follows .
The purpose of Resolution No . 262-87 is to abandon the road remnant
which has been created by the realignment of a portion of Mamalahoa
Highway in Kahuku , Kau , Hawaii .
Your Committee finds that the road remnant is no longer of use to
the County of Hawaii and as such abandonment of the roadway and any
interest the County of Hawaii may have in said roadway is
appropriate at this time .
Your Committee explicitly stated that in addition to being
abandoned, the roadway should be disposed of in accordance with
applicable laws and directed the Department of Public Works to
proceed accordingly .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Resolution No . 262-87 and recommends its adoption by the County
Council .
