Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred
Communication No. 895 and its attached Bill 306, reports as follows :
Bill 306 proposes to establish a no parking zone on the Puna side of
Mohouli Street on school days between the hours of 7 :00 a.m. and
8:00 a.m. , marked and metered as the first 3-2 hour parking metered
stalls mauka of the Kilauea Avenue. Amendments to Chapter 24,
Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-281, Schedule 29 and to
Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 7 , Section 24-291 , Schedule 39,
Item 20 are being proposed for this purpose.
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Bill 306 and the
recommendations of the Department of Public Works and is in accord
with this proposal for more efficient traffic operations . Your
Committee, however, noting that the operating hour of parking
metered zones on Mohouli Street are 8:00 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. , finds it
unnecessary to amend Section 24-291 relating to 2-hour parking
metered zones and has amended Bill 306 by deleting its Section 2 and
renumbering subsequent sections. These amendments are reflected in
Bill 306, Draft 2.
Your Committee on Public Works recommends passage of Bill 306,
Draft 2, on first reading by t e County Coun: ' 1 .
