Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred
Communication No. 894 and its attached Bill 305 , reports as follows :
Bill 305 proposes to reduce the speed limit in the Mamalahoa Highway
in Kau between the 66 and 69 mile markers from 45 mph to 35 mph.
Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-257 , Schedule 5 ,
Item 31 and Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-260,
Schedule 8, Item 11 relating to 35 mile per hour speed limit zones
to 45 mile per hour speed limit zones of the Hawaii County Code 1983
are being amended for this purpose.
Your Committee on Public Works has reviewed Bill 305 and has found
the description "1 .1 mile north of the South Point Road" to be
confusing. Your Committee has amended this description to read
"1 .1 mile east of the South Point Road" and submit Bill 305 Draft 2
to the County Council for consideration.
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Bill 305 Draft 2 and recommends its passag= on first reading by the
County Council.
