Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred
'Resolution 244-87 , reports as follows .
The purpose of Resolution 244-87 is to express the congratulations
and best wishes of the County Council to the participants , sponsors ,
and supporters of the Fifth Annual Volcano Wilderness Marathon and
Rim Runs .
Your Committee understands that this event, sponsored by the
Volcanoes National Park and supported by a host of state-wide and
local business organizations and hundreds of community volunteers,
benefits the Hawaiian Studies and Educational programs of the
Volcano Art Center which provides a unique opportunity and
experience for residents and visitors at the Hawaii Volcanoes
National Park .
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Resolution 244-87 and recommends its adoption .y the County Council .
