Your Committee on Public Works, to which was re-referred
'Resolution No . 99-85 and Public Works Committee Report No . 50
reports as follows:
The purpose of Resolution No . 99-85 is to authorize the expansion of
the Veterans Cemetery Advisory Committee from 9 to 13-members and to
provide that the membership shall include one designated
representative each from the American Legion, Club 100 , Hilo
Interpreters Club, 442nd Veterans Association, Disabled American
Veterans, Big Island Retired Military Association, Fleet Reserve
Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars .
A Bill for an Ordinance has been introduced to formally provide for
the creation of a Veterans Advisory Committee replacing the Veteran
Cemetery Advisory Committee. Further , the bill provides for an
expanded membership which includes designated representives from 9
veterans ' affiliated organizations .
Your Committee on Public Works, finds passage of
Resolution No . 99-85 to be unnecessary and recommends that
Resolution No . 99-85 and its accompanying Public Works Committee
Report 50 be received and filed by the County Council .
