Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
/Communication 749 , and its attached Bill 245 , reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill 245 is to amend the provisions of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 to reflect the change in titles of three of the
operating Divisions of the Department of Public Works. These title
changes simplify public recognition and understanding. The changes
consist of renaming the Engineering and Surveys Division to the
Engineering Division, the Traffic Service Division to the Traffic
Division, and the Wastewater and Solid Waste Division to the Waste
Management Division.
In addition, Bill 245 amends the provisions of the Hawaii County
Code 1983 by correcting references to specific bureaus and divisions
of the Department of Public Works which have already been changed.
Your Committee on Public Works is in accord with the purpose of
Bill 245 and recommends its passage on first reading by the County
Council .
