Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred
'Communication 650 reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 650 is to submit for Council
confirmation, the appointment of Ms. Frances M. Hasegawa to the
Transportation Commission.
Pursuant to Section 18-3, Hawaii County Code 1983 , there shall be a
County Transportation Commission composed of nine commissioners , one
for each Council district and three at large, with alternating two
year terms . Commissioners shall be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the Council .
Ms . Frances M. Hasegawa is a democrat from Kohala. She is being
appointed as the Kohala District commissioner for a term which
expires on December 31, 1986 . She is filling a vacancy created by
the expired term of Mr . Melvin Kaneshiro who served until December
1984.
The Committee on Public Works recommends confirmation of
Ms . Frances M. Hasegawa by the County Council as a commissioner to
the Transportation Commission.
