i, --;.i................ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ; : ''=•-��� . : STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +J ---iV . <br /> 'FTt OF.M'.Fi <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 239 13 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) FOR MATERIALS TO ERECT THE POW/MIA <br /> MEMORIAL GARDEN AT THE WEST HAWAII VETERANS CEMETERY. <br /> WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion <br /> Association, Inc. (WHVCDEA), a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization consisting of <br /> veterans organizations, individual veterans and non-veterans representing a broad spectrum of <br /> the Hawai`i County community, is building a memorial to honor the United States Prisoners of <br /> War and Missing In Action (POW/MIA) armed services personnel; and <br /> WHEREAS, the POW/MIA Memorial Garden serves to memorialize the United States <br /> POW/MIA since World War II (est. 81,705) that include 79 from Hawaii in the Korean War, <br /> Vietnam and Iraq/Afghanistan conflicts; and <br /> WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery has been designated "Shrine Status" <br /> by the Veterans Administration (VA), one of only three State-owned veterans' cemeteries in the <br /> nation to receive that honor; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 for $15,000 will be <br /> appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide financial assistance for the <br /> construction of said Memorial Garden; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $15,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC —Contingency Relief $15,000 <br />
