Your Committee on Public Works , to which was referred
Communication 642 reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication 642 is to submit for Council
confirmation, the appointment of Ms . Helen R. McCall to the
Transportation Commission.
Pursuant to Section 18-3, Hawaii County Code 1983 , there shall be a
County Transportation Commission composed of nine commissioners , one
for each Council district and three at large, with alternating two
year terms . Commissioners shall be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the Council .
Ms . McCall is a republican from Hilo. She is being appointed as an
at-large commissioner for a term which expires on December 31,
1986 . She is filling a vacancy created by the expired term of
Ms . Suzanne Haight who served until December 1984.
The Committee on Public Works recommends confirmation of
Ms . Helen R. McCall by the County Council as a commissioner to the
Transportation Commission.
