Your Committee on Public Works , to which was referred Bill 191,
reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill 191 is to amend Chapter 24 , Article 10 ,
Hawaii County Code 1983 relating to traffic regulations by
stablishing a "No Parking Anytime" zone on both sides of
Kaumana Drive , between Waianuenue Avenue and Ainako Avenue . The
No Parking Zone is being proposed as a means of improving sight
distances and traffic flow on Kaumana Drive .
Your Committee is aware that parking along the Puna side of Kaumana
Drive between Waianuenue Avenue and Ainako Avenue is presently
regulated by items 54 , 55 , and 56 of Section 24-280 and by item 5 of
Section 24-281 of the Hawaii County Code . Bill 191 also deletes
these superseded provisions .
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the purpose and intent
of Bill 191 and recommends its passage on first reading by the
County Council . •
